The homecoming.
September 30, 2017

A quick look over the newly home 120 and the very first thing I noted on the first walkaround was the bondo was chipping off above the drivers side front wing. This was just the tip of the iceberg.

Having looked over the car in more detail, it became apparent that things were not right. Runs in the paint, excess and poorly finished bondo, improperly fitting rear fenders, rear fenders fitted too low, fender welting bulges, and bondo chipping off to name a few.
After the worst of the frustration/ disappointment eased a bit, I decided to take an inventory of the issues.

Terrible bondo at the fuel filler door. For a shop that said they did not do bondo, they sure used it in globs.

Poor bondo work.

More poor bondo. Terrible gap at boot.

Not shown here very well is the poor paint.

Inside the rear wing. What is that strip of metal at the bolts?

Wow

Fender wenting was loose.

More loose welting.

Wow again

How the heck did they screw this up?

No excessive bondo or poor fitting metal here!

Metal strip same as the other side. They also cut and trimmed the bottom of the wings, after specifically being told not to – poor job to boot.

Great job fitting the bonnet to the front trim. (NOT!)

Wow one more time!

The bondo job around the filler cap was terrible.

Not showing up well in the photo was the runs in the paint.

What more can I say?

Excellent paint job here …

Quality paint work this is not.

More great paint work.

Bondo already chipping off.

She’s still pretty from a distance.

After sulking for a year, something had to be done to correct the poor workmanship from the body shop. A new shop was sourced and vetted (once burnt twice shy).
Fingers crossed as she left for her second body shop.
