The new license plate plinth not only did not fit, but was not manufactured properly as it did not fit the existing holes in the boot lid.
Holes were not tapped correctly, but this was quickly rectified.

Originally these would have had the support angles welded onto the bottom of this support plate. On this car the angles were separate which is likely not original.
